Liverpool Reform Synagogue is affiliated to the Reform Synagogues of Great Britain. Reform Judaism is a way of life that seeks to preserve all that is good in the Judaism of the past, while living in the present, which embraces the challenges of our time, welcomes all advances in human knowledge, and responds constructively to changing circumstances. Our story so far… Liverpool Progressive Synagogue (as it was then) was founded in 1928, and is one of the earliest Progressive communities established outside London. Its original home was in Hope Place (now the Unity Theatre) but in 1962 the congregation moved to Wavertree. In 2003 the Synagogue was completely refurbished and now includes a superb hall which accommodates the Cheder, Library and also holds meetings and social events. Our synagogue provides a point of focus for those members the Jewish community who wish to practice their religion according to Reform principles. We welcome people from all parts of the Jewish spectrum, including those who have drifted away or who have never had the opportunity to explore their Jewish roots.
You will be assured of a warm welcome!
